The skin the the largest organ in the human body and it absorbs everything you give to it very fast. There have been many studies on the products that are used everyday such as body lotion, shampoo, body wash and more and how some ingredients on them are toxic to your body, so why would you want to feed it with dangerous ingredients? I have been in the search for the cleanest products and I have found some.
Here are few labels I would recommend out of my own experience and with the EWG rating :
1. S.W Basics of Brooklyn was my first find and my experience has been very positive. I love that their products have only up to 3 ingredients which guarantee it's cleanliness and their products are in glass which it's a plus for me. The company started since the founder Adina Grigore had a sensitive skin, like me, and wanted to make products with pure ingredients for her body.
They have a great price and if you just want to first have a try of their products they have a great mini size deal for only $56 which includes
- Mini Cleanser
- Mini Toner
- Mini Cream
- Mini Exfoliant
- Mini Body Scrub
2. I found Nurture my body few months ago, when I was looking for delicate shampoos with very little ingredients and not irritant to the scalp. Their products are loaded with essential oils and no Sodium Lauryl Sulphate which I believe it irritated my head. And the best is that is rated with 0 from the EWG rating :)
Except this product I really love their energizing moisture face cream, which is delicate but moisturize and the wild eucalyptus body wash who energize my skin.
3. Beautycounter motto is to bring safe products into the hands of everyone, a perfect one to show their dedication toward the customers. I met a consultant of this company and she enlightened me with many useful informations such as, the company doesn't only try to have safe ingredients but to also research the best packaging material to use.
Here are some quotes used in their website that shows their dedications to be clean and safe:
IT'S TIME FOR A CHANGE.
The United States has not passed a federal law to regulate the ingredients used in personal care products since 1938.
The European Union has spent the past two decades banning or restricting more than 1,300 ingredients, the US has only banned 11 to date.
WE DESERVE BETTER, AND WE'RE DOING
SOMETHING ABOUT IT.
At Beautycounter, we've banned more than 1,500 ingredients setting a new health and safety standard
So far two of my favorite products are the anytime eye cream and the hydrate everyday body lotion. Both smooth, the first feels exactly what I need as a woman in her mid 20's and the lotion is silky and smooth and keeps my skin glow and with leaves no dry spot.
Let's not forget that they also have sunscreen who rated 0 from EWG and is great to protect yourself during your summer adventures.
Did I inspire you to stock on clean products for your body? If yes, do you have other companies you suggest? Let me know!
